If you are a subscribing member of the Insurance Benefit Trust (LIAS) and your cohabiting partner/spouse is also a subscribing member in their own right, you are eligible to claim a rebate of £4.30 per month/per couple. This rebate relates to the duplications in your premium for Travel, Home Emergency and Motor Breakdown.
The period of cover you will be claiming for is 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016. If you have both been a member of the scheme and lived together during this time you will receive 12 x £4.30/per month/per couple. If during this period you have not subscribed to the LIAS or lived together for a full 12 months your payment will be pro-rated accordingly.
Other Factors that will prevent you from receiving the full 12 months
- If the Federation made any of your LIAS payments during 1 April 2015 - 31 March 2016 i.e. maternity/paternity leave, or you were on a career break or zero pay and were not subscribing to the LIAS
- If either of the persons in the relationship left the police service, other than retirement, separated or no longer lived at the same address
This rebate applies to GMP serving officers, Police Staff (in the full scheme) and Retired Members
